Zsolt Balog

Pianist, fortepiano and harpsichord artist.

Balog has been awarded at many national and international competitions, and was the winning performer at the Leó Weiner Chamber Music Competition and the First Budapest International Harpsichord Contest. As a harpsichord and fortepiano soloist, piano chamber music and song accompanist Balog is a regular guest at the most renowned national and international musical events and festivals. His repertoire ranges from the music of the late Renaissance to that of modern days – he is known for having performed countless world premiéres. Apart from being present in the world of concerts, his theatrical contributions are also remarkable – he has co-operated in and has been the musical editor of several theatrical performances.

 In 2004, Zsolt Balog received the Annie Fischer Scholarship of the Hungarian Republic. Currently, he teaches at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music and is a senior PhD student of the Academy.
