Zsófia Boros

has garnered an excellent reputation among the young guitarists, due to her virtuosity on the instrument and her innovative ideas for the concert guitar.

Zsófia started playing guitar at the age of six. She studied at Bartók Béla Conservatory in Budapest and Bratislava Conservatory, at University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and finished post-graduate studies at the „Francisco Tárrega guitar-academy“ in Italy. Jozef Zsapka, Walter Würdinger, Paolo Pegoraro and Stefano Viola are among her teachers.

Zsófia received various grants, most notably from „Herbert von Karajan Centrum“, Austria, as well as „Dr. Robert und Lina Thyll Dürr“-foundation, Switzerland.

She has performed worldwide both as a soloist and within different ensembles for chamber music. Zsófia Boros participated succesfully at various international competitions in Italy, Portugal and Austria, which opened her the doors to an international career.

Her first CD „evocacion“ by „Duo AgiLeo“ with flutist Daniela Lahner was released 2005 by Preiserrecords, who also produced her solo CD „Music Box“ in 2008.
