Vratislav Vlna

Vratislav Vlna (born 1975) studied the oboe at the Prague Conservatory under professor František Kimel (many years‘ Solo-Oboist of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra) and at the Prague Academy of Musical Arts under professor Jiří Mihule (also former Solo-Oboist of Czech Philharmonic Orchestra).

H e has taken part in the interpretational classes in Germany (Bonn 1993) and in Switzerland (Vevey 1993) and he was the winner of the international competition Concertino Praga 1992.

Since 1996 he has been the first oboist in the Opera Orchestra of National Theatre in Prague and simultaneously since 1999 he has collaborated as a Solo-Oboist with the Prague Chamber Orchestra, the Solistes Européens Luxemburg and with the Virtuosi di Praga.

As soloist Vratislav Vlna appeares regularly together with the Virtuosi di Praga and the Prague String Orchestra, with the Orchestra of the National Theatre, the Pilsen Philharmonic Orchestra and the Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra.
