György Lakatos

György Lakatos was born in Budapest in 1985 and began to take violin lessons already as an eight-year-old. At the age of 12 years, he was accepted to the Ferenc Liszt Music Academy where he was instructed by Kiss András and Szenthelyi Miklós.

In 2000, he was given the privilege of playing in Rome during a mass celebrated by Pope John Paul II.

Since 2008, he has appeared as artist in residence with the Hungarian Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra which has presented numerous concerts within the country and abroad.

In 2009, the orchestra toured throughout the USA and Japan.

Recent CD productions featured the etudes by Pieer Gavinies and Jacob Dont, predecessors of the great masters Paganini, Ernst and Wieniawski.
